    Prewitt Funeral Home has offered funeral services to the Henry County area since 1951.

    William G. "Bill" Prewitt, Sr. came to Henry County in 1942 and began working for McCarty Funeral Home on College Street in New Castle. The home merged with Shannon Funeral Home on South Main in 1953. Prewitt Funeral Home became independent again in 1960, when it moved to its present location, the old historical and widely-admired Bourne Home, located at 425 North Main Street in New Castle.

    Mr. Prewitt was joined by his son, William G. "Billy" Prewitt, Jr. in 1961. In 1988, William Guy Prewitt, III joined his father and grandfather in the family business.

    Prewitt Funeral Home expanded to a location in Eminence in 1988, when William G. Prewitt, Jr. and his wife, Betty, bought the former Ricketts Funeral Home at 5901 South Main Street.

    After 50 years of funeral service in Henry County, William G. Prewitt, Sr. and his family take pride in serving families personally and sincerely, and they are dedicated to providing continued quality service into the 21st century.
