James “Jim” Witt, age 85 of Eminence, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.  Son of the late Thomas and Minnie (Creech) Witt, he was a caregiver at Cedar Lake Lodge for many years.  Prior to his time at Cedar Lake, he was a long-time butcher at several different grocery stores. Jim loved playing his guitar, maintaining a beautiful yard, and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 5 brothers and a sister.

Grandchildren:      Devin Witt of Eminence

                             Josh Witt (Sue) of Nicholasville

                             Ashley Khalifa (Moustafa) of Louisville

Great-Grandchildren:   Layla & Nayla

Sister:          Dottie Colquitt (Dan) of Leitchfield

Daughter-in-law:  Stephanie Catron of Indiana

4-Legged Companion:  BB

Funeral Service:  2 PM Monday, March 11, 2024, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home, with Reverend Robert Jesse Fields officiating.

Devin Witt, Josh Witt, Doug Nelson, Steve Collins, Charlie Nelson & Steve Collins

Visitation:  10 AM until service time on Monday, March 11, 2024, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.
