Whitaker “Junebug” Louden, Jr., age 89 of Bedford, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024. The son of the late Whitaker and Lottie (Gividen) Louden, he faithfully served his country as a Sergeant Major in the United States Marines. A dedicated soldier, he served for over 20 years at home and abroad during the Vietnam War. Highly decorated for his valor, he was the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal. Junebug loved gardening and was an avid UK Wilkdcat fan!  In Addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Josefa “Pepita” Louden, his second wife Sarah Bradley; sisters, Angie Briley, Pearl lee and Nancy Gravile; and brothers, Charlie, Jimmy, and Clyde Louden.

Funeral Service: 12 PM Noon Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home, officiated by Bro. Bobby Wade.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kentucky Humane Society.

 

Pallbearers: Andy Louden, Clyde Louden, Jr., Houston Broughton, Michael Raisor, James “Jimbo” Louden, and Mark Louden.

 

Interment: Sulphur Cemetery

 

Visitation:  5 PM to 8 PM on Monday, March 18, 2024, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.
