Eddie Prewitt, age 83 of Eminence, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024. Son of the late Benjamin and Mary (Quire) Prewitt, he was previously a deacon and a member of Eminence Baptist Church. He retired from Hussey Copper after working for over 35 years as a supervisor. He was a founding volunteer of the Eminence EMS. Faithfully serving his country in the Army for 2 years, he also spent 8 years on the Eminence City Council and 10 years as president of the Eminence Cemetery board. In his spare time, he loved to spend time fishing.

Daughter:    Sheila Tingle (Christopher) of Staunton, IL

Son:   Christopher Prewitt of Eminence

Grandsons: Joshua Tingle (Valentin) of Edwardsville, IL

                   Matthew Tingle of Collinsville, IL

Brother:       Robert Prewitt (Debbie) of Frankfort

Sister:          Ilene Coombs (Edwin) of Florida

Aunt:           Grace Nowak of Connecticut

Funeral Service: 11 AM on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.

Interment:  Eminence Cemetery

Visitation:  5 to 8 PM on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, and from 10 AM until service time on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.
