Augusta Ann Lynch

Augusta Ann Lynch, 67, of Shelbyville, Kentucky passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026. She was born on February 3, 1959 in Lexington, Kentucky. She attended Lafayette High School and graduated from Villa Madonna Academy in Villa Hills, Kentucky. She lived in Lexington, until moving to New Castle, Kentucky in 2012. She loved music, reading, fashion, making crafts, making original art; she was a good friend and was devoted to her family and her cat, Shelley.  

She was preceded in death by her parents Jane Magruder and Joseph B. Lynch, Jr. of Lexington, Kentucky. She is survived by three siblings: Joseph B. Lynch, III (Jane Garrett) of Lexington; William M. Lynch (partner Carol) of Bowling Green, Kentucky; Michele Guthrie (Jim) of Campbellsburg, Kentucky. She is also survived by 3 nieces and 6 nephews: Rosalie Allen, LMFT (Justin), Lexington; Paige Cox (Brian), Hamden, Connecticut; Abigail Lynch, Chattanooga, TN; Lt. Colonel Alden Lynch, U.S. Army, Ret. (Kate Feely) Lacey, Washington; Master Sgt. Aaron D. Lynch, USMC, Ret. (Liene), Richlands, North Carolina; Joseph M. Guthrie (partner Christine Buckley) Sebring, Florida; Daniel Lynch, Lexington; Joseph B. Lynch IV, Lexington; and Garrett Lynch (fiancée Diana) Tampa, Florida. She leaves to cherish her memory sister-in-law Amy Rice Lynch, special friend and roommate, Mrs. Gayle Vermillion of Crestview Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Shelbyville, Kentucky as well as the wonderful and caring staff at Crestview.  

Augusta will be remembered for her sweet, friendly demeanor, cheerful laugh, her enduring faith in Christ and her enthusiasm for the annual traditions of her family. She was never seen at a 4th of July or Halloween gathering without festive earrings and a matching bag. Her loved ones especially wish to honor her for bearing the burdens of disability through-out her life with grace and acceptance, and we give thanks to God for the gift of her life. 

A memorial will be held on Saturday, June 20th with visitation to begin at 11am followed by services at 12 Noon at Prewitt Funeral Home in New Castle, Kentucky, officiated by the Reverends John and Amber Inscore-Essick, co-pastors of Port Royal Baptist Church. There will be a private burial at Calvary Cemetery in Lexington, Kentucky at a date to be announced.  

The family suggests donations to the Henry/Trimble Animal Shelter, the Port Royal Baptist Church, Port Royal, Kentucky, or The Berry Center, New Castle, Kentucky.
