Betty Louise Dixie, age 75 of Eminence, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2025. Daughter of the late Leeroy and Sarah Lee (Morgan) Dixie, she worked for the Commonwealth of Kentucky and was a caregiver at Baptist LaGrange Hospital for many years. She was a life-long, dedicated member of Main Street Baptist Church in New Castle, where she sang in the choir, served as an usher, cleaned and decorated the church. Betty was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters, as well as two grandsons, Jose and Luis Vargas.

Daughter: Ronetta Vargas (Jose) of Eminence

Sisters: Pearl Robinson of Louisville
              Carolyn Payne of Eminence
              Rose Hernandez (Memo) of Pleasureville

Brother: John Dixie (Debbie) of Shelbyville

14 Grandchildren, 3 Great-Grandchildren, Nieces & Nephews


Funeral Service: 1 PM on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Main Street Baptist Church, New Castle, officiated by Rev. Iman Martin.

Burial: New Castle GUOOF Lodge Cemetery

Honorary Pallbearers: Jose Vargas, Jason Dixie, Antonio Dixie, Ronald Baker, Otis Gay, John Dixie, DJ Dixie and Memo Hernandez

Active Pallbearers: Isiah Dixie, Kristopher Dixon, Jalen Dixie, Demetrius Moore, Daishon Moore and Joe Dixie

Memorial contributions may be given to Main Street Baptist Church.

Visitation: 10 AM until service time on Saturday at the church.
