Bobby Johnson, age 87, of Webster, KY, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, surrounded by his family and dear friends.

He was born on June 21, 1938, in Eminence, KY, son of the late Vernon Johnson and Myrtle Wilson Johnson. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joyce Elizabeth Johnson; two sisters, Verna Lee Johnson Galbraith and Patsy Ruth Johnson; three brothers, Orville Dean Johnson, Herbert Wilson Johnson, and Jack Johnson; brother-in-law, Billy Hubb; and a nephew, Ronald Dean.

Bobby, known as the “Mayor of Webster”, earned that title every day through the life he lived and people he loved. He owned his own construction company for a number of years, quite literally shaping the town that he called home through his hard work, talent, and dedication. He enjoyed simple things that made life good. Whether he was grabbing a meal at Hardee’s or meeting friends for a beer at Miguel’s, he was always ready to tell a story or share a joke. If you knew him, you also knew about his beloved train caboose, something that brought him so much joy and was a reflection of his unique spirit. Bobby loved loudly, lived boldly, and never hesitated to speak his mind. He was as tough as they come, but beneath his strong exterior was a man full of kindness, loyalty, and generosity. His presence could fill a room, and his absence will be felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He is survived by his special friend, Aliene (Dickie) Kays; bonus child, Jennifer Wisnoski; bonus grandchildren, Alexis (Jalen) Thomas, Avery Wisnoski, and Megan Kays; bonus great-grandchildren, Kylie Thomas and Elliott Fugate; sisters, Rebecca Allen and Loretta Gregory; nieces, Darlene Stivers, Michelle Sweeney, Tonya Roberts, and nephew, Michael Allen; and a host of friends that adored him.

Visitation will be held at Prewitt Eminence Funeral Home (5901 S. Main St.) in Eminence, KY, on Monday, April 27, 2026, from 11:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. EST
