Hobert Rice , age 88, of Turners Station, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025.  Son of the late Ira and Oma Rice, he worked in construction all over Ohio & Kentucky.  A Florida resident for 20 years, Hobert was an avid outdoorsman who loved to sit on the porch and feed the bees! He was a gifted gardener who shared his wonderful bounty of vegetables with family & friends. Returning to Kentucky 20 years ago, he became a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.  Hobert was preceded in death by a son, Charles Rice; daughter, Cora Della Rice; sisters: Mae Gibson, Annie Rice, Ellen Griffith, Iree Bowling, Marion Williams, Lillie Hoskins & Nona Lee Carter; and a brother, Lester Rice.

Daughters:       Nella Palmer (Lonnie Jones) of Port Royal

Lilly Bonnie Rice-Berwanger (Jeff) of Ohio

Sons:               Gene Rice of Ohio

Sister:              Easter Allmond of Florida

Brothers:         Tester Rice of Turners Station

Aster Rice of Clay County

7 Grandchildren  & Several Great-Grandchildren

Funeral Service: 11 AM on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Frey of Hopewell Baptist Church Officiating.

Burial: Port Royal Cemetery

Pallbearers: Adam Rice, Ray Palmer, Lonnie Jones, Carl Harrison, Charles Burgin & Shawn Estes

Memorial Contributions may be given to the funeral home towards funeral expenses.

Visitation: 9 AM until service time on Monday at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.
