Jimmie D. Woods

In loving memory of Jimmie D. Woods 6-20-1942 to 10-13-2025. Jimmie, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on 10-13-2025 at the age of 83. A proud third-generation tobacco farmer, Jimmie spent his life working in the fields embodying the values of hard work, dedication and love of the land.

A United States Army veteran, Jimmie served his country in Vietnam with honor and continued to carry that same sense of duty and integrity throughout his life. When he wasn’t in the fields, Jimmie found joy in simple pleasures – working in his garden and mowing.

Jimmie will be remembered for his steady hands, his generous heart and the legacy of love and labor he leaves behind.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister.

Wife: Juanita Woods of Eminence

Daughter: Stacy Woods of Smithfield

Son: Jerry Woods (Christy) of Bagdad

Grandsons: Joey (Hallie) and JC

Great Grandchildren: Ellie and Jackson

Sisters: Shirley Tingle (Owen), Kathy Doll, and Nancy Brown (David)

Several nieces & nephews

He will be deeply missed by family and friends.

Jimmie will be cremated. There will be no services at Prewitt Funeral Home at this time.

Graveside Memorial Service:  11 AM on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at New Castle Cemetery.
